Richard Lyall / RESCON
RESCON has been involved with the Toronto Wood Solutions Fair for at least four years now whether as a sponsor, speaker or attendee. For us, this is a can’t-miss event.
This year is no different: we’ll be attending Mississauga’s International Centre next Thursday (Nov. 22) to take in their amazing program featuring a slate of today’s brightest minds on wood construction and design. If you’re someone that builds or plans to build with wood, you should go.
You have to register before midnight on Saturday (Nov. 17) – you’ll save 20% off your ticket if you register with the code RESCON18. Register here: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/2018-toronto-wood-solutions-fair-tickets-47464703205
WHY YOU SHOULD GO
Among the 20 speakers is celebrated Canadian architect Douglas Cardinal, U.K. architect Harbinder Birdi, Austria’s Roland Maderebner as well as a panel with Carol Phillips from Moriyama & Teshima about George Brown College’s Arbour project and the growth of tall wood in Toronto.
The topics in the 17 sessions will cover:
- technical advancements in engineered wood products
- the growing utilization of mass timber in the marketplace
- how updated building codes that permit taller and larger wood structures have enabled and encouraged designers to explore new ways of building with wood
- award-winning wood buildings.
The fair runs from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Thursday at the International Centre, 6900 Airport Road, Mississauga.
