Here's a snapshot of some of the most important issues
for the residential construction industry.
If Donald Trump can ascend to the White House and the Chicago Cubs can win the World Series, anything is possible.

But another country recently led us to this conclusion: China.

Last month, a group of RESCON directors and staff flew there for the "Cities to MegaCities" conference, organized by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (a Chicago-based, international body).

Being from the GTHA, our group is very conscious of the great standard of living enjoyed in Canada's economic capital. And in construction, we believe Toronto and Ontario deserve to be acknowledged as global leaders for health and safety and work-place protections.

But after travelling to China and Hong Kong, our eyes were opened: we witnessed great innovation in building with density, the creation of complete communities and thinking big for the long term.

At RESCON, we advocate to connect three things: housing, jobs and transit. The site visits and presentations that we took part in showed that China and Hong Kong make this concept a reality by building transit, creating jobs and constructing homes simultaneously to create flourishing communities.

More on this incredible trip to Eastern Asia below.
