Here's a snapshot of some of the most important issues
for the residential construction industry.
Last month, the Ministry of Municipal Affairs released the Development Approval Roundtable Action Plan intended to bring more housing to the market sooner. The action plan came out of the province's Ontario Fair Housing Plan announced in April.

Working with the Secretary of the Cabinet, Steve Orsini, as well as deputy ministers, senior GTHA planning officials, and senior representatives from BILD, OHBA, RCCAO, OREA and TREB, RESCON's red tape guru Michael de Lint and I provided input for the action plan. Click here for the document.

The 14-point action plan gives us a rare opportunity to modernize and streamline Ontario's regulatory process. Read more in de Lint's blog at this link. He sums up the article in this way: "This is the time to address big problems with equally big solutions."

CondoBusiness magazine also has an article on the action plan at this link.
