The Training and Education Committee provides strategic direction and advice on matters relating to increasing the supply skilled trades in the residential sector. The committee is the advisory body of the Residential Construction Management postgraduate program at George Brown College and is also a supporter of the Women in Skilled Trades program at the Centre for Skills Development and Training. In 2017, RESCON signed a partnership agreement with Humber College and will be working with them on projects of mutual interest. The Committee is currently looking to develop partnerships with other educational institutions. The Committee also develops training sessions and seminars for members and construction site personnel. Committee membership is open to all members.
In the Fall of 2018, RESCON, in partnership with Humber College launched the "Building Careers Together" online learning modules. The Job Seeker
module is intended for students, recent grads and job seekers. It provides information on Residential Construction, the Trades & Workplace Safety.
The Employer module is intended for front line management, site-supervisors, college and/or trade school instructors, and career advisors. It provides
useful resources related to recruitment, onboarding, retention and workplace health & safety.
