Here's a snapshot of some of the most important issues
for the residential construction industry.
RESCON has enjoyed a successful media splash for our report "Streamlining the Development and Building Approvals Process in Ontario" after it was launched this month.

We believe it couldn't have been released at a better time as the Doug Ford government appears to be approachable for new ideas, or even innovative ideas that have been kicked around for ages but never implemented. RESCON believes it's more important than ever to streamline the approvals process in order to unlock the housing supply chain.

There has been a lot of discussion in industry circles about the report, and we're hopeful that Queen's Park will take a long look at it. (Please contact us at if you want a hard copy.)

Among the coverage that regulations guru Michael de Lint's study has attracted includes coverage by the Toronto Star, as well as a three-part series in the Toronto Sun - click here for part 1; click here for part 2.

(Part 3 will be published this Saturday.)

As you scroll down the newsletter, you will find: a story and interview on CBC's Power and Politics featuring yours truly and an article by the Daily Commercial News - both on the impact of steel tariffs on construction and housing; RESCON's Andrew Pariser and Amina Dibe combine for two blogs - cannabis in construction, and our growing relationship with Humber College; Dibe goes solo to write about RESCON's government relations initiatives; lastly, Andy Manahan of infrastructure advocacy group RCCAO pens an op-ed for the Toronto Star on why the Ford government's gas tax cut could be a smart move.
